Embedded Software Engineer Overview

• The Embedded Software Engineer will develop and integrate complex systems spanning hardware, embedded firmware, Linux, and application-level software.
• Work across the full product lifecycle, from architecture and hardware bring-up to system integration and deployment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware, firmware, and software components.
• Contribute to the evolution of system architecture and technical decision-making processes.
• Support manufacturing processes through the development of fixtures, utilities, and validation methods.
• Incorporate AI-powered tools into workflows, ensuring technical accuracy and code quality.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, prioritization, and execution within cross-functional teams.
• Enhance system testing and characterization procedures to ensure reliability and performance.

Embedded Software Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Architect, implement, and validate systems combining custom electronics, programmable logic, and embedded firmware.
• Develop, review, troubleshoot, and refine analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuit designs.
• Coordinate integration across hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software components, resolving multidisciplinary issues.
• Create and improve manufacturing fixtures, diagnostic utilities, and production test processes.
• Develop procedures supporting reliable system testing and characterization.
• Establish standards for responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Participate in technical planning, estimation, and execution within cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate and refine AI-generated code, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Embedded Software Engineer Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded systems, Linux platforms, or kernel-level environments.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Bash programming languages.
• Experience with Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and diagnosing integration issues.
• Knowledge of FPGA systems and hardware description languages like Verilog or VHDL.
• Exposure to RF systems, low-noise electronics, or mixed-signal board development.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and evaluating generated code.
