• The Manufacturing Operations Manager oversees manufacturing and supply chain activities to ensure reliable production of specialized electronic hardware.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers, suppliers, engineering teams, and leadership to manage schedules, materials, and production risks effectively.
• Coordinate internal assembly and production activities, ensuring quality and timely delivery of completed hardware.
• Lead manufacturing activities for new product introductions, transitioning products from development to scalable production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and quality processes to support consistent output.
• Identify and mitigate potential threats to production schedules, including sourcing, capacity, assembly, and quality risks.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools for planning, analysis, and operational workflows, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and on-site responsibilities.

Manufacturing Operations Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers, overseeing sourcing, quotations, and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain production plans, monitoring progress and addressing schedule risks proactively.
• Ensure availability of critical components by forecasting requirements and addressing potential shortages.
• Coordinate internal assembly activities, ensuring final packaging and shipment of completed hardware.
• Lead manufacturing efforts for new product introductions, validating and scaling production processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturability and address recurring quality issues.
• Establish communication mechanisms to provide stakeholders visibility into production status and risks.
• Travel to manufacturing and supplier facilities as required to ensure operational efficiency.

Manufacturing Operations Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with preference for 10 years.
• Direct experience producing electronic or electromechanical products such as PCB assemblies or complex hardware systems.
• Strong understanding of purchasing, demand planning, inventory control, and supplier management.
• Experience transitioning products from low-volume to scalable manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with quality-management systems and manufacturing quality methodologies like ISO 9001.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted productivity tools for operational workflows.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
