Job Description

Bookkeeper Overview

  • The Bookkeeper will manage financial recordkeeping and payroll processes for a nonprofit organization dedicated to impactful social causes.
  • Temporary position covering parental leave for the Finance Director until the end of the year.
  • Responsible for processing payments, preparing invoices, and ensuring accurate financial documentation.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping tasks and Paychex Flex for payroll management.
  • Collaborate with diverse team members to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.

  • Work onsite in a structured 9-to-5 schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Bookkeeper Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process payments for organizational bills and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and submit invoices related to government-funded grants.
  • Manage payroll processes, including auditing and processing staff timesheets.
  • Ensure error-free and timely payroll submissions and disbursements.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping and Paychex Flex for payroll tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to support financial operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial documentation.

Bookkeeper Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Paychex Flex payroll systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate with diverse team members.
