Registered Nurse Overview

• The Registered Nurse (Care Team Supervisor) oversees clinical operations and provides professional nursing care to patients, ensuring high standards of safety and satisfaction.
• Collaborates with the care team to deliver patient-centered care and maintain quality control standards in compliance with regulations.
• Manages daily scheduling, delegation of tasks, and supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.
• Coordinates daily huddles, reviews patient charts, and ensures accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record system.
• Administers medications and treatments, and assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Supports recruitment, training, and performance evaluation processes for care team staff.
• Ensures adherence to infection control, environmental safety, and confidentiality policies.
• Provides mentorship and education to care team staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Maintains inventory of clinical supplies and prepares materials for patient care activities.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Supervise and manage care team staff, including scheduling, delegation, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate daily huddles and manage patient care materials and deliverables.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with nursing standards.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring optimal care delivery.
• Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and open orders, ensuring completeness.
• Document progress notes and patient interactions within the Electronic Health Record system.
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are adhered to within the clinical environment.
• Provide mentorship and education to care team staff, fostering professional growth.
• Manage inventory of clinical supplies and coordinate with administrative staff for procurement.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in hospital or ambulatory settings.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, regulations, and practices to provide and evaluate patient care.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Record systems and medical chart reporting.
• Strong communication skills for patient care and team collaboration.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for advanced clinical knowledge.
