Senior Desktop Support Engineer Overview

  • The Senior Desktop Support Engineer will provide high-touch technical support to end users, ensuring seamless technology operations and exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Director to manage and enhance the firm's IT systems and user experience.
  • Administer the helpdesk function, prioritizing and resolving incidents to minimize business disruption.
  • Manage Citrix environments, including virtual desktops and published applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Oversee endpoint patch management, ensuring security compliance and reducing vulnerability exposure.
  • Provide support for mobile device management, including enrollment, compliance policies, and remote device management.
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects and initiatives, collaborating with team members to achieve organizational goals.
  • Maintain clear documentation and knowledge-based articles to improve processes and workflows.
  • Support the business outside standard hours when needed, demonstrating flexibility and a customer-first mindset.

Senior Desktop Support Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer and own the helpdesk function, ensuring service levels are met and incidents resolved efficiently.
  • Deliver high-touch technical support to end users, including senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Manage Citrix environments, including virtual desktops and published applications, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Oversee endpoint patch management, ensuring timely updates and robust security compliance.
  • Administer the Dell Wyse thin-client estate, managing device provisioning and lifecycle.
  • Support mobile device management through Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance and security.
  • Handle user onboarding and offboarding, ensuring timely account provisioning and equipment setup.
  • Create and maintain documentation, driving process improvements and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, collaborating with the Infrastructure Director and team members.

Senior Desktop Support Engineer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in virtualization, Active Directory, Windows OS, and Citrix administration.
  • Proficiency in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of endpoint patch management tools and processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and end-user support.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management platforms, preferably Microsoft Intune.
  • Excellent documentation, process management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Financial services or hedge fund experience preferred.
