Licensed Practical Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide direct patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and satisfaction in a geriatric healthcare setting.
• Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, including overseeing care delivery and managing team workflows.
• Collaborate with Registered Nurses and Clinical Care Managers to implement effective patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and procedures.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting changes to supervising clinical staff promptly.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care delivery.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies at all times.
• Foster a positive and supportive environment for patients and colleagues alike.

Licensed Practical Nurse Job Requirements

• Valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is mandatory for this role.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and IV therapy is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is the minimum educational qualification needed.
• Previous experience working with the geriatric population is highly preferred.
• Commitment to working every other weekend and a minimum of three days per week.
• Ability to complete a four-day orientation program successfully.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to ensure effective care delivery.
