Surgery Center Nurse Director Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement nursing policies, protocols, and guidelines aligned with industry standards.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard nursing team members, including RNs and surgical technologists.
- Manage nursing operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Oversee patient care, safety, and satisfaction throughout the surgical continuum.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia staff to optimize surgical workflows.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, state licensing, and accreditation standards.
- Lead quality assurance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate orientation and ongoing clinical education for perioperative staff.
- Act as a liaison between nursing, administration, and medical staff.
Surgery Center Nurse Director Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing or related field required.
- RN licensure in Arizona or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager.
- Experience in orthopedic operating room nursing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ASC regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and surgical scheduling systems.
- Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.
- Local residency in the Phoenix metropolitan area is advantageous.
