• Provides leadership and supervision to nursing staff, supporting the Nurse Manager in daily operations and strategic planning.
• Assumes Nurse Manager responsibilities during absences, including hiring, termination, and employee evaluations.
• Collaborates with healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes.
• Monitors and manages unit supplies, technology, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Facilitates leadership and care team meetings, achieving actionable outcomes and maintaining meeting records.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
• Coordinates emergency referrals and collaborates with Family Practice health teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Implements current nursing policies and standards to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Assistant Nurse Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Monitor and manage unit supplies, technology, and equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
• Participate in performance improvement activities to advance nursing practices and patient care standards.
• Assume Nurse Manager responsibilities during absences, including personnel management and administrative duties.

Assistant Nurse Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State with current BCLS certification.
• Current Infection Control and Child Abuse Certificates are mandatory.
• Experience in ambulatory care settings and bilingual Spanish/English skills are advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise nursing teams effectively.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage unit operations.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of current nursing policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
