Nurse Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee patient flow within the health center, addressing walk-ins and telephone inquiries effectively.
• Assist healthcare providers with procedures, referrals, and diagnostic regimens as required.
• Provide nursing care and health education tailored to patient needs and conditions.
• Manage clinical inventory and ensure availability of necessary forms and supplies.
• Evaluate reports, surveys, and data to identify improvement opportunities in patient care processes.
• Hire, discipline, and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Develop and implement quality improvement programs to enhance care delivery and team performance.
• Ensure staff compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among healthcare teams and stakeholders.

Nurse Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing acceptable.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience; three years preferred in ambulatory or emergency settings.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State with current BCLS certification.
• Demonstrated ability in venipuncture, medication administration, and telephone triage.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including typing and basic software usage.
• Strong organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills for effective team management.
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred to enhance patient communication and care.
• Ability to problem-solve using critical thinking and decision-making skills.
