AVP, Legal Entity Overview
- The AVP, Legal Entity role is pivotal in managing financial processes and controls for internal and external reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of financial statements and SEC filings for SPAC entities.
- Support transaction structuring and entity changes with financial advisory expertise.
- Participate in month and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Engage in external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving inquiries.
- Perform administrative tasks, including wire payments and invoice submissions.
- Contribute to special projects, supporting departmental and business objectives.
AVP, Legal Entity Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide financial support for SPAC entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Coordinate with Corporate Accounting, Legal, Tax, and Treasury teams for accurate accounting.
- Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries and intercompany activities.
- Prepare and review quarterly financial statements for external reporting purposes.
- Review and contribute to SEC filings, including Forms S-1, 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K.
- Perform balance sheet substantiation and evaluate expense accrual adequacy.
- Assist with audit inquiries, providing documentation and resolving issues.
- Support special projects, collaborating with team members and business managers.
AVP, Legal Entity Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA certification is preferred.
- 3-8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting within financial services.
- Experience with Big Four public accounting firms is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Oracle, ESSBASE, and HFM systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and Excel capabilities, with project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with business writing expertise.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
