Publication Specialist Overview
- The Publication Specialist provides operational support for multiple publications and ensures timely delivery of print and electronic issues.
- Collaborates with the Publications Coordinator and Director of Publications to enhance article offerings with multimedia content.
- Assists in managing and coordinating efforts for webinars, including sponsor communications.
- Offers editorial and administrative assistance across various journals and publications within the department's portfolio.
- Provides copyediting and composition support for special projects such as meeting programs and award booklets.
- Ensures backup support to maintain publishing deadlines and reduce backlogs.
- Works onsite on designated days with flexibility for additional days as required.
- Contributes to the mission of producing high-quality professional journals.
Publication Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Support the AUANews and AUANews.net website operations, ensuring timely publication of print and electronic issues.
- Enhance publication offerings by integrating multimedia data to complement authors' research.
- Coordinate webinar operations, including sponsor communication and logistical arrangements.
- Provide editorial assistance for various publications, including journals and special projects.
- Offer backup support across the department to ensure deadlines are met and operations run smoothly.

Publication Specialist Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required, preferably in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in publication or editorial roles; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and proofreading marks; familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong computer skills and average clerical abilities to manage tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work onsite on designated days and additional days as needed.
