Process Engineer Overview

• The Process Engineer will focus on enhancing production efficiency and reducing downtime through proactive analysis and action plans.
• Spend 80% of time on the production floor driving improvements and 20% on new launches and upcoming projects.
• Collaborate with production leaders to identify areas for improvement in scrap reduction and line efficiency.
• Utilize technical expertise to conduct trials for new processes and ensure optimal implementation.
• Work within a fast-paced environment as part of a Tier 1 supplier team requiring quick and results-driven responses.
• Interact with quality, production, and process center teams to align engineering strategies.
• Report findings and drive actions based on daily observations and analysis on the production floor.
• Contribute to the headlamps team consisting of seven engineers across different processes.
• Engage with engineering manager and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Process Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and develop actionable improvement plans.
• Conduct trials for new processes and ensure proper implementation and functionality.
• Collaborate with production leaders to address issues related to scrap, downtime, and line efficiency.
• Prepare and report findings, driving actions based on daily observations and analysis.
• Maintain control plans and perform PMEA to ensure process reliability and quality.
• Support new program launches and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, production, and process centers.
• Ensure compliance with union limitations while performing hands-on tasks during trials.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to production challenges.

Process Engineer Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive engineering; 7 years preferred.
• Technical knowledge in solar panels and anti-fog mirror applications.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and support new program launches.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with Tier 1 suppliers.
• Strong collaboration skills to interact with engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Proficiency in control plans and PMEA processes.
• Hands-on approach to conducting trials and implementing process improvements.
• Ability to adapt and respond quickly to production challenges and drive results.
