CAD Technician/Design Engineer Overview

  • The CAD Technician/Design Engineer role involves creating and refining manufacturing layouts using AutoCAD for feasibility analysis and optimization.
  • Collaborate with teams to address issues, provide feedback, and resolve obstacles efficiently.
  • Develop structured models with organized layers and blocks for easy management of floor plans.
  • Review layouts with the team for sign-off or modifications based on feedback.
  • Integrate equipment layouts into building site models, identifying and communicating necessary changes.
  • Refine layouts upon final site identification to ensure optimal design and functionality.

CAD Technician/Design Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Model manufacturing layouts in AutoCAD for feasibility assessments and optimization.
  • Communicate issues and obstacles promptly to facilitate feedback and resolution.
  • Create structured models with organized layers and blocks for efficient management.
  • Review and refine layouts with team collaboration for finalization and approval.

CAD Technician/Design Engineer Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in CAD drafting or design engineering; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD drafting using Inventor; 3D CAD design capability is advantageous.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to create structured and manageable floor plan models.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams for layout reviews and refinements.
  • Experience in integrating equipment layouts into building site models for feasibility analysis.
