Senior Test Engineer Overview

  • The Senior Test Engineer will lead the planning and execution of testing programs for safety-critical systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and oversee test strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and high-quality results.
  • Design experiments based on engineering principles, interpret data, and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Work hands-on with hardware, instrumentation, test equipment, and experimental setups in regulated environments.
  • Contribute to the development and commissioning of test facilities, ensuring readiness and continuous improvement.
  • Apply quality assurance principles throughout test planning, execution, and reporting processes.
  • Support a culture of disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and technical accountability.
  • Engage in approximately 10–15% travel to support testing programs and facilities.

Senior Test Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Partner with engineering teams to develop and improve test facilities and programs.
  • Identify and implement equipment, instrumentation, and resources for testing programs.
  • Design and execute test plans, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and safety standards.
  • Collect, document, and analyze test data to support engineering decisions.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring readiness and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for improving testing methods and program effectiveness.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality requirements during testing.

Senior Test Engineer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required; Nuclear Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on engineering experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Experience in regulated or safety-critical industries such as nuclear, aerospace, or defense.
  • Proficiency in designing experiments, executing tests, and analyzing results.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, measurement systems, and data acquisition concepts.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills for creating detailed test plans and reports.
  • Ability to lead technical investigations and collaborate across disciplines.
