Registered Nurse Overview

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) role offers an opportunity to provide professional nursing care and clinical supervision within a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure high standards of patient satisfaction, safety, and quality of care.
  • Utilize your expertise in ambulatory or hospital settings to deliver exceptional patient care and support organizational goals.
  • Engage in leadership activities, including mentoring, scheduling, and counseling care team staff effectively.
  • Coordinate daily huddles, manage clinical supplies, and ensure compliance with nursing standards and guidelines.
  • Document patient progress notes accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to maintain comprehensive records.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring adherence to protocols and patient-specific needs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality standards consistently.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) on the care team.
  • Manage care team scheduling, Paid Time Off (PTO) requests, and delegation of tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing practices, standards, and organizational policies.
  • Assist with staff selection, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Coordinate and manage daily huddles, reviewing patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient treatments, examinations, and testing.
  • Conduct point-of-care tests and document results promptly within the EHR system.
  • Maintain clinical supply inventory and ensure readiness for patient care activities.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of New York as a Registered Nurse is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings is essential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for this role.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation is necessary.
  • Knowledge of infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality practices is vital.
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
