Senior Accountant – Tax and Partner Finance Overview

  • The Senior Accountant – Tax and Partner Finance will manage tax compliance, reporting, and advisory processes for a professional services firm.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership, external advisors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Play a key role in preparing and reviewing partnership tax filings, including Schedule K-1s and related documentation.
  • Support tax planning initiatives, research regulatory changes, and advise on the tax implications of business transactions.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts, optimizing tax systems and controls for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in audits and regulatory inquiries, coordinating documentation and liaising with external advisors.
  • Ensure accurate tax reporting and provisions in compliance with US GAAP standards.
  • Work in a dynamic environment, supporting the firm’s financial strategy and growth objectives.

Senior Accountant – Tax and Partner Finance Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings for the firm and related entities.
  • Coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments and annual tax filings, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Research and analyze federal, state, and local tax issues affecting the firm.
  • Support IRS, state, and local tax examinations, providing required documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and efficiencies.

Senior Accountant – Tax and Partner Finance Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • 4-7 years of tax experience in professional services, public accounting, or corporate tax departments.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax regulations, including PTET elections.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing partnership tax returns and Schedule K-1s.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems like Elite or SAP.
  • CPA certification or active progress toward CPA is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
