Social Worker Overview
- The Social Worker will provide trauma-informed counseling and case management for elder justice clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop safety and care plans tailored to client needs.
- Advocate for clients within various systems of care to ensure their rights and well-being.
- Contribute to program development and professional training initiatives on elder mistreatment.
- Participate in grant reporting and documentation processes with the program team.
- Utilize a client-centered, anti-oppressive approach in all aspects of service delivery.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling for clients facing elder abuse challenges.
- Engage in professional consultations and helpline support for elder justice issues.
Social Worker Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct safety assessments and develop individualized safety plans for clients.
- Deliver trainings for professionals on elder mistreatment and trauma-informed care practices.
- Provide case management and advocacy services for Weinberg Center clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys, social workers, and healthcare professionals to address client needs.
- Maintain accurate case records using computer systems and tools.
- Support program development initiatives aimed at improving elder justice services.
- Assist in the completion of grant reports and documentation requirements.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling for elder abuse victims.
Social Worker Job Requirements
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required; LMSW or LCSW certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in geriatrics, elder abuse, or related fields.
- Proficiency in trauma-informed care and client-centered approaches.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic computer skills for managing case records and documentation.
- Experience in program development and professional training delivery preferred.
- Proficiency in a language other than English is helpful but not required.
