Interior Designer Overview

  • The Interior Designer will lead and manage design projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative interior design solutions aligned with client needs and industry standards.
  • Utilize advanced design software to create detailed drawings, 3D models, and renderings for project visualization.
  • Conduct site surveys and programming research to inform design strategies and ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on design techniques and project management practices.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations, effectively communicating design intent and incorporating feedback.
  • Support studio initiatives, including process improvements, knowledge sharing, and innovation in interior design practices.
  • Contribute to the firm’s brand standards and uphold its reputation for excellence in interior design.

Interior Designer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead project teams through all phases, from conceptual design to installation, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage project workflows, including task delegation, resource planning, and coordination across disciplines.
  • Conduct programming research and site surveys, drafting existing conditions using Revit software.
  • Produce coordinated drawing sets, specifications, and renderings to communicate design intent effectively.
  • Research materials, sustainability strategies, and code-compliant solutions for innovative design outcomes.
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and punch lists to ensure project compliance and completion.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth within the studio environment.

Interior Designer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field is required.
  • 6-9 years of post-graduate experience in interior design, with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Google Suite, and Miro.
  • Strong understanding of project scopes, budgets, pricing, and interior design practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client management and team collaboration.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of navigating ambiguity in dynamic project environments.
  • Experience managing junior staff and enhancing team workflows within a studio environment is preferred.
