Litigation Legal Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform confidential secretarial duties, including transcription and correspondence drafting.
- Manage incoming and outgoing emails, ensuring timely delivery and proper filing.
- Prepare and proofread legal documents, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Handle court e-filings and distribute filings appropriately within the team.
- Maintain attorneys’ daily calendars, scheduling meetings and depositions.
- Assist with travel arrangements, correspondence, and expense reimbursements.
- Ensure adherence to billing deadlines and vendor invoice processing.
- Support other attorneys and legal assistants as needed, fostering teamwork.

Litigation Legal Assistant Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications are advantageous.
- 7-10 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant in a legal environment.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and legal software such as iManage and BigHand.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, document preparation, and court procedures.
- Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to detail in legal documentation.
- Ability to type a minimum of 70 words per minute accurately.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Experience with e-filing systems and maintaining organized legal records.
