Sales Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Join customer visits, fleet reviews, and technical presentations to assess needs and suggest solutions.
- Translate customer concepts into actionable recommendations and solution designs.
- Support field evaluations, troubleshooting, and installation reviews for customer satisfaction.
- Lead technical presentations, proposals, and implementation handoffs for strategic accounts.
- Validate scope, assumptions, and technical feasibility before customer commitment.
- Create application guides, FAQs, and training materials for sales personnel and customers.
- Monitor fleet platforms, aftermarket technologies, and regulatory developments for growth opportunities.
- Coordinate application reviews with engineering, suppliers, and installation teams.
Sales Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 8 years preferred.
- Experience with technical products in automotive, heavy-duty truck, or industrial markets.
- Proficiency in vehicle systems, aftermarket parts, and technical troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools; ability to travel regularly.
- Preferred experience with fleet maintenance, vehicle integration, and technical sales.
- Knowledge of Class 8, medium-duty, and light commercial platforms is advantageous.
