Job Description

Summary:

Our client is a leading national general contractor with offices in multiple states that focuses on healthcare, manufacturing/warehouse, K-12, Higher Ed., commercial, and mission critical. They are seeking a 6+ year project manager with experience in one of their core project industries. With almost 100 years in business, they are forging the construction path throughout Cincinnati and Columbus.

 

Duties:

  • Achieve customer satisfaction by understanding and surpassing client needs.
  • Estimate, value engineer, and develop project budgets.
  • Oversee the subcontractor bid process, including the processing, distribution, and tracking of all bidding documentation.
  • Leverage software programs and templates to process, distribute, and track project documentation.
  • Negotiate subcontractor and material buyouts; develop and finalize subcontracts.
  • Plan and schedule projects.
  • Manage ongoing projects, including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation, and ensuring quality and safety standards.
  • Control project costs through continuous assessment of labor, materials, and equipment; forecast and analyze construction costs, risks, and profits until project completion.
  • Execute project closeouts.
  • Competently manage single projects ranging from $5 million to $25 million or multiple smaller projects in various construction stages.
  • Develop conceptual schedules and budgets.
  • Apply value engineering principles.
  • Present bids clearly and professionally to owners.
  • Handle increasingly complex and larger projects.
  • Work collaboratively with field supervision to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: B.S. in Construction, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships throughout the organization
  • Desired: Experience in warehouse, healthcare, K-12, or Higher Ed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
