Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project documents including drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare detailed time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Lead and manage bid teams, including facilitating bid team meetings and ensuring accurate project scope and quantity takeoffs.
- Mentor, supervise, and train junior preconstruction staff.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for scope and completeness.
- Manage risks and contract specifics during the bid process.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of budgets and estimates before submission.
- Conduct site visits to assess potential project challenges and develop solutions.
- Engage in business development activities to identify new project opportunities and cultivate client relationships.
Requirements:
- Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience, with at least three years in a leading preconstruction or estimating role.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using PlanSwift or similar estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating techniques and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Deep knowledge of the local subcontractor market and experience with both conceptual and detailed estimating.
