Job Description
Title: Legal Assistant
Responsibilities Include:
- Review and summarize contracts, title reports, surveys, and related documentation
- Draft and manage estoppels, title endorsements, and closing instructions
- Serve as liaison with title companies to secure insurance policies and resolve exceptions
- Coordinate and participate in transaction closings
- Prepare and manage closing binders and documentation
- Draft checklists and closing indices
- Abstract leases and loan documents as needed
- Prepare documentation for entity formation, qualification, and dissolution in various jurisdictions
- Maintain accurate records for corporate governance compliance and board actions
- Draft board and shareholder resolutions; assist in due diligence efforts
- Assemble and index closing materials for corporate transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate required
- At least 5 years of experience in a law firm environment, specifically with real estate and financing matters
- Experience with real estate transactions and closings is essential
