With deep roots in the region and an expanding presence in the Atlanta market, we’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts and play a key role in the growth of our Atlanta operations.
Position Summary:
The Senior Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing all preconstruction activities, from conceptual estimating to final GMP development. This role requires strong leadership, in-depth technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive successful outcomes in the early phases of commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preconstruction efforts across a range of commercial and industrial projects
- Develop accurate and detailed conceptual and hard-cost estimates
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to evaluate project scope and budget
- Conduct constructability reviews and identify value engineering opportunities
- Manage preconstruction schedules, bid solicitation, subcontractor relationships, and cost databases
- Present budgets and proposals to clients clearly and professionally
- Mentor junior team members in estimating and preconstruction best practices
- Coordinate seamless handoff of projects to operations teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 8–10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction management
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and local market conditions
- Demonstrated success leading preconstruction efforts on complex commercial projects
- Proficient in estimating and scheduling software (e.g., Sage Estimating, OST, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with Atlanta’s subcontractor market and current pricing trends
