Position: Construction Superintendent

Location: Cleveland, OH

Overview:

A well-established general contractor is seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to oversee construction projects in the Cleveland area. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in managing big box retail, healthcare, or commercial construction projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead onsite construction activities from groundbreaking through project closeout
  • Manage subcontractors, field staff, and material deliveries to maintain the project schedule
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company standards
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project management teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, and engineers
  • Conduct regular site meetings and inspections to ensure quality and compliance
  • Collaborate with the project manager on scheduling, budgeting, and problem-solving
  • Maintain daily logs and documentation using construction management software

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
  • Proven experience managing projects in big box retail, healthcare, or general commercial sectors (ideally managing projects ranging from $2M-$30M)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and safety practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in construction technology platforms (Procore, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • OSHA 30 Hour
  • First Aid/CPR certification
