Job Description

Overview

  • Lead safety initiatives for a regional area, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Develop and manage the Safety and Health Management System in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement safety programs and enhance workplace safety culture.
  • Supervise and mentor safety professionals to achieve incident prevention goals effectively.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety meetings and training sessions to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents and manage claims to protect company interests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, balancing onsite and remote responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer and manage compliance with the company safety program and incident prevention efforts.
  • Develop, organize, and implement safety-related programs exceeding company standards.
  • Perform jobsite inspections focusing on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
  • Coordinate and conduct regulatory agency inspections to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain records of incidents and claims for efficient resolution.
  • Provide strategic vision for creating safe work environments for employees and the public.
  • Instruct supervisors on improving safety performance through detailed enforcement practices.
  • Collaborate with insurance departments to manage high-value claims effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field preferred.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Fall Protection and Construction Safety Orders essential.
  • Proficiency in OSHA, FAA, and other state and federal agency guidelines.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and teach effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Capability to work at heights and confined spaces in construction settings.
