Overview

  • Join a dynamic healthcare organization as a Medical Receptionist, providing essential support to patients and staff.
  • This contract role offers a full-time schedule with rotating weekend shifts once per month.
  • Work closely with the Front Desk Supervisor to ensure smooth front desk operations.
  • Engage with patients and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service and assistance.
  • Contribute to maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems, directing calls and managing messages effectively.
  • Assist patients with registration, inquiries, and appointment confirmations.
  • Provide visitors with necessary support and guidance upon arrival.
  • Maintain and update patient information in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Prepare charts and documentation for upcoming medical cases.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery.
  • Educate patients on healthcare proxies, advance directives, and privacy practices.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role; 3 years preferred.
  • Current BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic record-keeping is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work on-site during specified operational hours, including occasional weekends.
  • Proficiency in managing multi-line phone systems and front desk operations.
