Overview

  • Provide essential medical assistance in a dynamic healthcare setting, ensuring efficient patient care and administrative support.
  • Perform phlebotomy tasks and patient sample collection, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Support clinicians and healthcare staff in delivering high-quality medical services to patients.
  • Assist with patient registration, data entry, and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Monitor patient flow and ensure timely check-ins and check-outs.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Answer telephones professionally and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Assist patients with check-ins, check-outs, and addressing questions.
  • Collect blood and urine samples following established policies and procedures.
  • Take and record patient vital signs accurately.
  • Prepare patients for medical tests and examinations efficiently.
  • Ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication within the team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information as per HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and filing documents.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; certification not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical assistant or phlebotomy role preferred.
  • Proficiency in blood draws and sample collection techniques.
  • Strong organizational and data entry skills for patient registration.
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to confidentiality.
