Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the development and enforcement of data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance within the organization.
  • Collaborate with business units to align data initiatives with organizational objectives and resolve data-related issues effectively.
  • Manage data access permissions, implement security measures, and ensure adherence to data privacy regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data catalogs and metadata documentation for organizational data assets.
  • Monitor data quality through profiling and metrics, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Facilitate organizational changes and provide training on new data governance processes and responsibilities.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure effective communication and collaboration on data governance matters.
  • Track progress and conduct regular reviews to assess the effectiveness of data governance programs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures for data management.
  • Implement processes to define data standards, track quality metrics, and resolve data quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to data handling and privacy.
  • Define data ownership and stewardship roles, supporting stewards in managing domain-specific data.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of data catalogs documenting assets, definitions, and metadata.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data requirements and priorities across the organization.
  • Manage the implementation of new data governance initiatives and facilitate organizational changes.
  • Resolve disputes and conflicts arising from data governance processes to ensure efficient data flow.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data management, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Docuware preferred; familiarity with data privacy regulations.
  • Master’s degree and certifications in data governance are advantageous.
  • Must be open to travel as required and possess analytical problem-solving skills.
