Job Description

Overview

  • Lead operating room nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Manage clinical, staffing, quality, and financial aspects of the operating room department.
  • Promote patient safety, satisfaction, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and operational goals for the department.
  • Foster collaboration between the operating room and other hospital departments.
  • Provide leadership in hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee patient care delivery, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
  • Coordinate staffing levels and manage patient throughput efficiently.
  • Develop and execute operational policies and procedures for the operating room.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide mentorship and training to staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Address patient complaints and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.
  • AHA Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of patient classification and staffing requirements.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, or related field.
  • Preferred: Nurse Manager Leader or Nurse Executive Certification (CNML or NE-BC).
