Accountant

Overview

• Contribute to a dynamic team as an Accountant in the Commercial Services department of a leading energy company.
• Perform critical accounting functions related to gas flows, transportation, and storage services.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

• Support audit processes through SOX control testing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Generate, reconcile, and invoice gas flows for transportation and storage services.
• Reconcile ledgers, accounts receivable, and past due customer balances.
• Collaborate with pipelines to reconcile volumes of transported natural gas.
• Address customer inquiries regarding services and invoicing.
• Conduct SOX control testing and provide audit reporting.
• Prepare analyses and reports to support internal Gas Accounting functions.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for accounting processes.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with accounting software.
• Strong numeric and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in the natural gas industry is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of OnBase and PeopleSoft systems is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
