Overview

  • Lead the trauma program at a Level II Trauma Center, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance trauma care and patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement research initiatives to advance trauma and acute care practices.
  • Coordinate local and regional trauma system efforts for seamless patient care.
  • Monitor financial performance and resource utilization to optimize trauma center operations.
  • Oversee trauma registry design to support performance improvement and research activities.
  • Ensure compliance with verification and re-verification processes for trauma center accreditation.
  • Engage with staff, surgeons, and trauma nurses to address patient concerns and improve service quality.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop strategic plans for trauma patient care across the continuum.
  • Coordinate quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits for trauma services.
  • Design and manage trauma registry systems for data-driven insights.
  • Lead verification processes to maintain trauma center accreditation.
  • Supervise and support trauma program staff to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with emergency departments and surgical teams for integrated care delivery.
  • Promote research and innovation in trauma and acute care practices.
  • Engage in community outreach to strengthen trauma system networks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of acute care trauma leadership experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification with Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Expertise in trauma program operations and clinical research methodologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance improvement strategies.
  • Experience with trauma center accreditation and compliance processes.
  • Ability to oversee and mentor staff within a high-pressure healthcare environment.
