Overview
- Lead patient safety initiatives as the appointed Patient Safety Officer.
- Develop and implement comprehensive patient safety programs across hospital and outpatient clinics.
- Promote a culture of safety to reduce medical errors and adverse events.
- Manage incident reporting systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with medical staff to implement effective patient safety strategies.
- Provide leadership and support to employees in patient safety initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize patient safety science to improve healthcare delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer and oversee patient safety programs within the organization.
- Develop and implement the hospital's patient safety plan.
- Facilitate continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance safety.
- Analyze and report on patient safety metrics and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, DEA, and Title 22 regulations.
- Lead cross-functional teams to address safety challenges.
- Provide training and education on patient safety principles.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Current California Clinical License (RN, PharmD, or related field).
- Certification as Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within two years of hire.
- Minimum three years of experience in patient safety or related fields.
- Four years of acute care hospital experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives effectively.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
