Overview

  • Lead regional safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of workplace safety excellence.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive Safety and Health Management Systems aligned with organizational policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to implement effective safety programs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and mentor safety professionals, guiding them to achieve incident prevention and compliance goals.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits to identify hazards and enforce corrective measures proactively.
  • Organize and lead safety meetings and training sessions to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents, manage claims, and implement strategies to protect organizational interests.
  • Balance onsite and remote responsibilities effectively within a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer and oversee compliance with the company's safety program and incident prevention strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety-related programs exceeding industry standards.
  • Perform jobsite inspections, focusing on hazard recognition and mitigation of unsafe behaviors.
  • Coordinate and facilitate inspections by regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents and claims, ensuring efficient resolution processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance for creating safe work environments for employees and stakeholders.
  • Train supervisors on improving safety performance through effective enforcement practices.
  • Collaborate with insurance departments to manage high-value claims and mitigate risks.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field preferred.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience required, with proven expertise in incident prevention.
  • In-depth knowledge of Fall Protection and Construction Safety Orders essential.
  • Proficiency in OSHA, FAA, and other state and federal safety regulations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse teams effectively.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and teach in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
  • Capability to work at heights and confined spaces in construction settings.
