Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the planning function for an e-commerce division, encompassing inventory, demand, sales, and financial planning.
  • Develop and operate a robust commercial planning engine using Power BI for performance analysis and investment evaluation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic planning processes and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Build and manage a high-performing planning team, fostering accountability and disciplined execution.
  • Integrate inventory constraints, forecasted demand, and financial outcomes into decision-making processes.
  • Establish standardized planning cadences, including seasonal planning, in-season management, and monthly reforecasting.
  • Develop executive and operational views to support informed decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Ensure the planning system functions as the operational backbone of the division, driving business-critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and implement a commercial planning engine in Power BI, ensuring accurate forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Lead inventory-led planning, aligning sales plans with inventory availability and marketing investments.
  • Develop decision logic integrating inventory, demand, costs, and seasonality for profitability analysis.
  • Manage the P&L, modeling revenue, costs, margins, and contributions across channels.
  • Establish planning standards and accountability for forecast accuracy and financial performance.
  • Enable dynamic reforecasting and translation of commercial strategies into executable plans.
  • Provide structured trade-off analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain KPI scorecards, variance analysis, and rolling forecasts for performance tracking.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree required, with advanced proficiency in Power BI and Excel.
  • Minimum 10 years of planning experience in Retail, Wholesale, or E-commerce.
  • Strong fluency in retail math and inventory-led demand planning.
  • Proven track record of building scalable planning systems driving business decisions.
  • Experience with Amazon 1P and/or Amazon 3P preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leadership and influence decision-making.
  • Understanding of P&L mechanics and variable cost structures in e-commerce.
  • Capability to lead and develop high-performing teams with planning rigor and accountability.
