Overview
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the hemodialysis unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance operational efficiency and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement staff competency plans and educational activities to foster professional growth and excellence.
- Monitor and adjust staffing levels based on census and acuity to ensure a safe and efficient care environment.
- Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and enforce accountability to maintain high standards.
- Plan and manage unit budgets, including staffing, supplies, and capital needs, in collaboration with leadership.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for regulatory and policy matters, acting as a liaison to other departments.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the hemodialysis unit, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
- Coordinate staff schedules, monitor overtime usage, and ensure proper payroll processing.
- Facilitate orientation and training for new personnel, ensuring goals are met effectively.
- Collaborate with the education department to plan and execute staff development activities.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of supplies and equipment within the unit.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; national professional certification preferred.
- Licensed and registered as a Nurse under the State of New York regulations.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a staff nurse with managerial responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of hemodialysis procedures and patient care standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage operational budgets effectively.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills for interacting with staff, patients, and families.
