Job Description

Overview

  • Lead accounting and reporting for strategic investments, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline investment accounting processes and enhance internal controls.
  • Prepare detailed investment schedules, reconciliations, and technical accounting memos for quarterly reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements of investees, identifying accounting principle differences and maintaining converted books.
  • Conduct fair value and impairment analyses, ensuring accurate financial statement disclosures.
  • Participate in due diligence for investments, assessing financial information and legal agreements.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, automating processes and enhancing efficiency.
  • Assist with external audit requests and ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform monthly accounting activities for corporate investments, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain comprehensive investment schedules and equity method adjustments.
  • Evaluate investee financial statements, identifying accounting principle differences.
  • Prepare quarterly fair value analyses and impairment assessments.
  • Collaborate with corporate development and valuation teams to assess accounting implications.
  • Support quarterly reporting processes with investment-related data and disclosures.
  • Enhance documentation and SOX controls over investment-related processes.
  • Contribute to finance transformation goals, streamlining processes and improving controls.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; 7 years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and investment accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and technical accounting memo preparation.
  • Experience with SOX controls and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in investment evaluations.
  • Excellent communication skills for preparing disclosures and audit support.
