Overview

  • Lead and supervise nursing operations within the operating room, ensuring optimal patient care and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement best practices and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support investigations into patient concerns and implement solutions to enhance care delivery.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure appropriate staffing and utilization within clinical areas.
  • Maintain clinical expertise and provide supervision to ensure high-quality care and compliance with standards.
  • Foster a safe environment for patients and staff through adherence to safety protocols and training.
  • Monitor and improve operational processes to achieve efficiency and quality in care delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for nursing staff to enhance performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily activities of the operating room team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate resource allocation and staff assignments to optimize patient care delivery.
  • Monitor and address performance metrics to achieve operational objectives and improve care quality.
  • Foster collaboration among healthcare providers to ensure seamless care across the continuum.
  • Support emergency preparedness initiatives and train staff on response protocols.
  • Implement and monitor strategic improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including the Nursing Practice Act and The Joint Commission.
  • Provide clinical supervision and maintain competency to direct care provision within the unit.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in clinical healthcare; five years preferred.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Proven leadership experience in healthcare settings, preferably in operating room supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage teams and coordinate resources.
  • Ability to implement best practices and drive quality improvements in patient care.
