Overview

• Lead financial operations and reporting for a diverse portfolio of real estate assets.
• Supervise accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with property management, leasing, and construction departments for seamless financial integration.
• Provide expertise in accounting standards, including GAAP, accrual, and cash bases.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Utilize advanced accounting software and tools to optimize financial workflows.
• Develop and train accounting staff to achieve organizational goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Coordinate month-end close processes and review financial statements for accuracy.
• Analyze financial accounts and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.
• Oversee property acquisitions and dispositions, ensuring proper accounting integration.
• Manage CAM and tax settle-ups for third-party clients.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with property management and finance teams.
• Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Train and develop accounting staff to enhance team capabilities.
• Research and apply accounting standards to improve processes and reporting.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience; 15 years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual, and cash accounting methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with real estate accounting software such as Yardi or IBS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for client and team interactions.
• Knowledge of commercial retail property management is a plus.
