Job Description

Overview

  • Provide occupational therapy services to adults and geriatric patients in multiple locations.
  • Evaluate and treat patients requiring sensorimotor rehabilitation and activities for daily living training.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement therapy plans.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants and students from affiliate colleges.
  • Travel between designated sites to provide therapy services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and interventions.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as required.
  • Comply with agency requirements for outcome measures and efficiency levels.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform patient evaluations to determine sensorimotor and perceptual motor functions.
  • Develop and implement therapy plans based on patient needs and rehabilitation goals.
  • Select activities to enhance work and life-management skills within patient capabilities.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and recommend changes to therapy plans as needed.
  • Communicate therapeutic procedures to patients, families, and staff members.
  • Coordinate therapy activities with other rehabilitation programs.
  • Provide semi-annual in-service training to staff regarding occupational therapy practices.
  • Consult with equipment technicians and adaptive equipment dealers to meet patient needs.
  • Travel to multiple sites to perform therapy services and maintain efficiency levels.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent education and experience.
  • Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Valid New York State License/Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy.
  • Ability to travel between designated sites as required.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Experience supervising assistants and students in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed patient records and progress reports.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality therapy services to diverse patient populations.
