Job Description

Overview

  • Support attorneys by performing substantive legal work in litigation cases.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic legal team to manage high-value cases.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, petitions, and certifications.
  • Prepare and file arbitration-related documents and manage bond claims.
  • Maintain case databases and update client billing records.
  • Submit OPRA and FOIL requests as required.
  • Calendar legal deadlines and prepare attorney expense reports.
  • Communicate with Union signatories and manage delinquency issues.
  • Attend client meetings and draft meeting minutes.
  • Conduct legal research using databases like Westlaw and LexisNexis.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal or law firm environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey court systems and e-filing procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Critical thinking skills to handle complex legal tasks effectively.
