Overview
- Provide expert paralegal support for complex litigation cases, assisting attorneys with case preparation and document management.
- Coordinate and organize legal documents, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional procedures and standards.
- Conduct in-depth research using legal databases and online resources to support case development and strategy.
- Prepare materials for depositions, trials, and hearings, including formatting and proofreading legal briefs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain and update case files, databases, and document repositories for easy access and retrieval.
- Support attorneys during trials, managing logistics and providing on-site assistance as needed.
- Ensure adherence to billing and expense reporting procedures, contributing to organizational profitability.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate document production and filing with courts and agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform e-discovery searches using platforms like Relativity to identify relevant case materials.
- Assist in trial preparation, including logistics coordination and travel arrangements.
- Format, cite-check, and proofread legal briefs and motions for consistency and compliance.
- Conduct factual research and analysis to support litigation strategies and case arguments.
- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare deposition materials and coordinate logistics.
- Manage multiple case teams simultaneously, ensuring effective communication and organization.
- Develop efficient procedures to streamline processes and improve departmental collaboration.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of litigation paralegal experience, including arbitration and trial support.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, legal research databases, and e-discovery platforms.
- Strong knowledge of jurisdictional procedures, legal terminology, and document formatting standards.
- Experience with timekeeping and expense reporting applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel as required.
