Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to the accounting function by ensuring accurate financial reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, supporting timely preparation of financial statements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Support external audit requests by preparing required documentation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function and document policies for internal controls.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management.
  • Participate in special projects to support the Finance and Accounting team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including variance explanations and account reconciliations.
  • Record recurring journal entries and assist with income statement reviews.
  • Identify and communicate accounting or reporting issues to management.
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support external audit requests by preparing required documentation.
  • Investigate account discrepancies and assist with resolution.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function.
  • Assist with documentation of accounting policies and procedures to support internal controls.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • 2–3 years of related accounting experience, preferably in the service industry.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP.
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Hyperion or Great Plains is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Public accounting or audit experience is advantageous.
