Overview
- Lead clinical operations at a physician-owned ambulatory surgery center, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and manage clinical and clerical staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
- Develop and implement patient care protocols, nursing policies, and physician standing orders.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations and guidelines.
- Oversee resource management, including purchasing supplies and maintaining inventory within budgetary constraints.
- Promote staff development through orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with surgeons, agency surveyors, and vendors to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise daily clinical operations and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate patient care activities across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for patient care needs.
- Oversee inventory management, including controlled drugs and surgical supplies.
- Evaluate staff performance through competency assessments and skill checks.
- Implement solutions to improve processes and resolve critical issues effectively.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships within the healthcare community.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility through budget preparation and resource allocation.
Job Requirements
- Current California RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum three years of ambulatory surgery clinical experience as a registered nurse.
- One year of administrative or management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of ambulatory surgery operations, including QAPI standards.
- Proficiency in managing resources and personnel effectively.
- Ability to adhere to work schedules and manage time efficiently.
