Job Description

Overview

  • Manage comprehensive accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of properties, ensuring compliance and financial accuracy.
  • Perform monthly close processes, generating detailed internal and external financial reports.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Oversee banking transactions, wires, and debt service payments for assigned properties.
  • Manage mortgage escrows, reserve accounts, and tenant security deposits with precision.
  • Support annual external financial audits and contribute to ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Utilize advanced property management software to streamline accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial operations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and distribute accurate financial statements for allocated properties.
  • Perform daily reviews and updates of banking transactions and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with financial standards.
  • Manage monthly wires, debt service payments, and escrow accounts efficiently.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, including tenant security accounts.
  • Support month-end close processes and external financial audits.
  • Assist with accounting tasks for tax credit residential properties.
  • Contribute to process improvements and ad-hoc financial projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management.
  • Proficiency in Yardi software is essential for this role.
  • Experience with tax credit residential properties is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools is required.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with teams.
