Overview
- Support commercial real estate financing transactions, including construction loans, mezzanine facilities, syndications, and joint venture recapitalizations.
- Collaborate with partners and associates to manage complex, multijurisdictional real estate financings.
- Conduct transactional due diligence with emphasis on title and survey review and analysis.
- Draft, review, and assist with real estate finance documents under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate and facilitate complex closings, including preparation of closing checklists and post-closing deliverables.
- Conduct legal and factual research on real estate finance issues specific to New York.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients and third parties throughout transactions.
- Work in a hybrid environment combining remote and on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage legal and diligence checklists for real estate finance transactions.
- Review third-party reports, including title and survey documents.
- Negotiate title and survey agreements to ensure compliance with transaction requirements.
- Coordinate signature pages and ensure timely execution of documents.
- Prepare closing binders and manage post-closing documentation.
- Draft secondary market conveyance documents and other transaction-related materials.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Utilize industry-standard software platforms for document management and e-recording.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with Paralegal certificate required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in real estate finance transactions; five years preferred.
- Strong skills in title and survey review and analysis.
- Comprehensive familiarity with New York real property statutes and recording practices.
- Proficiency in software platforms such as iManage, Excel, SharePoint, and online due-diligence portals.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
