Overview
- Lead strategic growth initiatives in the government sector, driving new business development and expanding existing client relationships.
- Develop and execute go-to-market sales strategies tailored to State, Local, and Education (SLED) government sector needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design innovative solutions addressing public sector challenges.
- Cultivate relationships with senior government leaders, procurement officials, and strategic partners to enhance market presence.
- Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to align with regulatory and funding changes.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and associations to strengthen visibility and influence.
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented sales culture.
- Track sales pipeline performance and revenue forecasting to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth in the SLED government sector.
- Build strategic relationships with government leaders and procurement officials to originate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to create tailored solutions addressing public sector needs.
- Navigate complex procurement processes, including RFPs, RFIs, and government contract vehicles.
- Monitor regulatory and compliance trends, adapting strategies to stay ahead of industry changes.
- Partner with marketing teams to create sector-specific campaigns and thought leadership content.
- Track and analyze sales pipeline performance, ensuring alignment with growth targets.
- Represent the organization at events and conferences to strengthen market presence.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Political Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive business development or sales experience in the SLED government sector.
- Proven record of securing and growing advisory engagements with government sector clients.
- Deep familiarity with government budgeting cycles, policy priorities, and funding sources.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MPA, MBA, JD) strongly preferred.
- Certifications such as PMP, CGFM, or CFCM are highly desirable.
- Experience with CRM tools and government sector procurement platforms.
- Ability to travel extensively for client engagements and industry events.
