Job Description
Overview
- Provide administrative support to the Employee & Labor Relations department in all program activities.
- Coordinate meetings between union officials, employees, and management to facilitate dispute resolution processes.
- Assist with the disciplinary and separation processes, ensuring completion of required documentation and managing equipment retrieval.
- Prepare written materials including employee statements, memos, reports, and correspondence with accuracy and completeness.
- Support facilitation of Employee & Labor Relations workshops, including logistics and materials preparation.
- Maintain accurate files and records, including confidential materials, and perform Internet research as needed.
- Attend Labor Relations meetings, take minutes, and write summaries as required.
- Manage the probationary evaluation process and track annual performance evaluations.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate facilitation of workshops, including space reservation, material preparation, and attendee confirmation.
- Review disciplinary actions related to attendance and lateness, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Meet with employees to address complaints or concerns and document intakes.
- Support documentation gathering for grievance proceedings, arbitration, and hearings.
- Maintain effective working relationships with union officials, employees, and management.
- Analyze data and conduct research to support Employee & Labor Relations initiatives.
- Ensure confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide customer service and administrative support as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and ADP systems for administrative tasks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum two years of Human Resources administrative experience; union setting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of ADP systems required.
- Strong oral, listening, administrative, and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a confidential environment.
- Possess strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Customer service experience required.
- Union experience is a must.
