Overview

  • Support attorneys in complex litigation cases, focusing on insurance defense matters in a dynamic hybrid work environment.
  • Conduct thorough client interviews, prepare detailed summaries, and assist in comprehensive trial preparation.
  • Organize, analyze, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documents with precision.
  • Draft high-quality legal documents, correspondence, and discovery materials to support case development.
  • Collaborate effectively with experts, medical personnel, and law enforcement officers to strengthen case strategies.
  • Perform in-depth legal research and document searches to provide valuable insights to attorneys.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and courtroom appearances to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely time entries in compliance with client and legal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct client interviews, summarize findings, and prepare detailed memos for attorneys.
  • Request, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documents.
  • Draft and serve discovery requests, compile responses, and summarize deposition transcripts.
  • Schedule medical examinations and coordinate with experts and witnesses for case preparation.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and pretrial orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation and provide support during courtroom proceedings.
  • Perform legal research and factual investigations to support case strategies.
  • Maintain attorney schedules and calendars to optimize workflow and efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree required, with a focus on legal studies preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation or related field.
  • Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with civil procedure rules and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients, attorneys, and courtroom staff.
  • Competence in legal databases, research tools, and court-filing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of transcription software and advanced word-processing programs.
