Overview

  • Serve as a Legal Billing Specialist in a hybrid work arrangement, ensuring accurate and timely invoice preparation within a dynamic legal environment.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and administrative staff to resolve billing inquiries and maintain compliance with client requirements.
  • Utilize advanced billing software, including Aderant and E-billing Hub, to manage invoice submissions and monitor rejections or reductions.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc reporting tasks, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, ensuring efficiency and precision in all billing operations.
  • Leverage your expertise in finance and accounting to support the firm's revenue management goals effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Edit prebills using Prebill Viewer and Aderant based on attorney requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate complex client invoices via Aderant, adhering to billing guidelines and compiling necessary documentation.
  • Submit electronic bills through E-billing Hub, addressing rejections and reductions promptly.
  • Respond to billing inquiries, providing solutions and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Undertake special projects and prepare ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Monitor billing processes to ensure strict adherence to deadlines and firm policies.
  • Collaborate with the billing manager to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Maintain proficiency in billing software and tools, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Biller, with 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in billing software such as Aderant, Elite/3E, and E-billing Hub.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet strict deadlines.
